As we move forward into the new year, I am pleased to share a video with updates on negotiations, the pandemic, fighting the MBTA reductions, and most importantly, a message of appreciation from the Executive Board. Over the past couple of months, our union actively fought against the MBTA service cuts, began contract negotiations, and pushed forward through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Although this past year has been one of the most challenging for us all, our members have shown unwavering resilience. You put your fellow residents first to ensure riders had access to safe and essential transportation, and for that, we are grateful. Thank you for being a part of Local 589, and keeping Massachusetts moving.
