Tyrell Sullivan, who operates buses on the Route 73 between Harvard Square and Waverly Square, won the MBTA’s annual bus roadeo Sunday in Charlestown.

It’s the second roadeo title for Sullivan, a 29-year old South Boston resident, who has been with the MBTA for almost nine years. The MBTA has more than 1,400 bus operators.

Sullivan was among twelve finalists who were rated based on their performances as they operated buses through a skills-testing course of cones and barrels.

Presenting commendations to the competitors, MBTA General Manager Beverly Scott praised all of the finalists for their strong commitment to providing customers with safe and reliable service every single day.
