Dear Colleagues,

In our effort to improve the health and safety of our MBTA workforce, starting tomorrow employees at the Cabot Garage will have their temperature taken before the start of their shift. This new health initiative is starting with bus operations and will soon be rolled-out to other operating departments. Cabot Garage was selected because it is one of our largest facilities.

Individuals with a temperature in the normal range (less than 100 degrees Fahrenheit) will be allowed to report to their shift. Any person with a temperature of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit will be asked to leave the property immediately and should take the following actions:

• Call Work Partners,
• Notify their supervisor/manager by phone or email, and
• Contact their medical provider.

Screening areas will be set up on a bus to ensure privacy for our employees and the medical staff. The first screening location will be at the Cabot followed soon at the Charlestown Garage.

The practices we have in place for your safety and the safety of our customers will help insure we can continue performing our critical mission – providing transportation to the Commonwealth’s essential workforce during this public health crisis.
