Today, Local 589 President Jim Evers hosted the summer meeting of the New England Joint Legislative Conference.

Comprised of Locals from across New England, the Joint Conference was joined by ATU Local 689 from Washington DC; ATU Local 113 from Toronto; and by International ATU Vice Presidents Richard Murphy, Steve MacDougall, and Mark Henry.

Over the weekend, International ATU President John Costa; International ATU Vice President Yvette Trujillo; and International ATU Financial Secretary/Treasurer Kenneth Kirk joined the Joint Conference during training sessions on battery-electric buses, workplace safety, and member health programs.

This Joint Conference is necessary for our union to learn from and share institutional knowledge with our brothers and sisters from across New England.
