Join Local 589’s executive board, members, and retirees for a rally this Monday (4/27) at 9:00 AM on the front steps of the Massachusetts State House to keep the T public and to make our voices heard.

A transportation hearing regarding the MBTA’s special panel report is scheduled for 10:00 AM on the same day. Although you will not be able to testify, your presence in the hallways as well as in the hearing will send a strong message.

We also want you to talk to your legislators while you are in the building and let them know the following:

• FOR YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE, ask them support amendment #665 sponsored by Rep.Nick Collins, which will help protect PUBLIC EMPLOYEES at the MBTA and the PUBLIC INTEREST. Keep the T Public!
• FOR YOUR STATE SENATOR, ask them to CONTINUE supporting the Taxpayer Protection Act (“Pacheco Law”).

In closing, we encourage all retirees as well as those members who are not working at the time of this rally to join us this Monday (4/27) at 9:00 AM on the front steps of the Massachusetts State House.
