Dear Local 589 Members,

We are reaching out to encourage your participation in this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, an annual campaign supported by ATU in partnership with the AFL-CIO and the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC). The goal is to provide food for families in need.

Last year, NALC members and volunteers collected an incredible 44 million pounds of food, demonstrating the power of solidarity and what we can achieve when we come together. This year, we have another chance to support our communities and union members in need by helping keep food on tables during challenging times.

Here’s how you can contribute: On Saturday, May 10, simply place a bag of unopened, nonperishable food next to your mailbox before your letter carrier arrives. The carrier will collect the donations and ensure they reach families who need them most.

Let’s continue our tradition of solidarity and make a real impact in our communities. Your support in this important effort is greatly appreciated.
