Senate Vote on Transit Worker Protections – This Thursday, Nov. 13

November 11, 2025

Dear Members and Retirees,

The Massachusetts Senate will vote on S.2531 – An Act Relative to Assault and Battery Upon a Transit Worker this Thursday, November 13, at 11:00 AM in the Senate Chambers at the State House.

This bill adds transit workers to the list of employees protected under state law, increasing penalties for assaults on public workers. It also explicitly covers assaults involving bodily substances, such as saliva.

We need your support! Join us in uniform, union gear, or whatever you have. Stop by the union hall between 9:00 and 10:00 AM—we’ll provide gear if you don’t have any—and then we’ll walk together to the State House.
