QUINCY — A 35-year-old Quincy man has been charged with assaulting the driver and a passenger on an MBTA bus traveling through Quincy Point.
Israel Gordon of Sea Street was arraigned Wednesday in Quincy District Court on charges of assault and battery and assault and battery on a public employee. He’s being held on $1,000 bail.
MBTA Transit Police arrested Gordon at about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday following an altercation on a #220 bus, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said. The altercation occurred when the bus, which runs to the Quincy Center train and bus stations, was at the intersection of Washington Street and Beacon Street.
The driver, a 59-year-old man, was injured and taken to Quincy Medical Center but was later released, Pesaturo said. The passenger who was allegedly assaulted declined medical attention.
