President MacDougall Defends MBTA Worker

November 12, 2010

“Faced with an aggressive and threatening disgruntled rider confronting her twice within a few minutes, this female CSA responded appropriately to defend her safety and well being.”

“Action taken against this worker by the MBTA is unwarranted. The Boston Carmen’s Union stands with our member and will do everything necessary to protect this member’s rights and job through the grievance and arbitration process.”

“MBTA workers do not deserve nor will this Union allow them to be placed in harm’s way nor be blamed for the actions of a limited number of aggressive or threatening riders. Nor should other passengers be subject to this type of behavior.”

Stephan MacDougall, President
The Boston Carmen’s union Local 589
