The Boston Carmen’s Union, Local 589 congratulates our friend Mayor Marty Walsh on being nominated by President Joe Biden to head the U.S. Department of Labor. As the first union member to serve in the role in nearly 50 years, we know you are going to do great things for workers and working families across our great country. For far too long, working families have had to endure anti-worker/union policies and rhetoric. We now have someone that is going to stand up and fight for us. We are also happy that President Biden will have someone in his cabinet that truly understands the need and importance of funding public transportation.
