Earlier today, at the conclusion of this weekend’s New England Joint ATU Conference, President Jim Evers spoke about Local 589’s recent success in securing a new contact, protecting our pension, and building relationships with political leaders and community groups.

Yesterday, President Evers and VP Billy Berardino presented their work on the transit worker assault bill at the State House. Throughout the weekend, the Executive Board took part in trainings on micro-transit, violence de-escalation, and battery electric bus technology.

Working with our transit brothers and sisters from across the region allows us to learn from each other’s experiences and advance our mission together.
