MBTA Honors Bus Driver Volunteers for Fire Fighter Funeral Work

On March 2, 2012 the MBTA held a special ceremony in the Charlestown Garage to honor Bus Drivers who volunteered to provide service during the funerals for Worcester and Peabody Fire Fighters killed in the line of duty.
Fallen Fire Fighters Jon Davies and James Rice were remembered at the beginning of the event by Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts President Ed Kelly who also thanked the Boston Carmen’s Union ATU Local 589 members and Union Leadership for their work and support during the funerals.
On hand for the honors were Acting General Manager Jonathan Davis, Chief Operating Officer Sean McCarthy, Boston Fire Lieutenant Michael Walsh and the Executive Board of Local 589.
