An MBTA station ambassador was stabbed multiple times and is in serious condition after an argument became violent and spilled into Copley Station, police said.
MBTA Transit Police said the T employee suffered multiple stab wounds in the 1:15 p.m. attack that started near the station’s Dartmouth Street entrance and was in stable but serious condition at a local hospital. One man is in custody, officials said.
Ambassadors are not represented by the Carmen’s union, but Evers said attacks plague all MBTA workers. “These workers serve the riding public with great care and commitment and it is a shame to hear about this incident which unfortunately is part of a pattern of public transit workers facing abuse and violence in the line of duty,” Evers said, adding that union members’ thoughts are with the victim and their family.
