Looking Ahead This Independence Day
July 4, 2021
Sisters and Brothers,
Throughout the past 245 years, the United States of America has developed into a strong democratic nation, and this weekend we celebrate our freedom and honor the hard-working people who continue to make our country so great.
Not only did the City of Boston play an essential role in the American Revolution, it was also the birthplace of public transportation in the United States. Whether on ferries or rail lines, from the start, Massachusetts transportation workers have always ensured the safety and well-being of travelers.
The past informs the future, and on this holiday, we reflect on our founding fathers’ dream to transform the United States into a nation built upon the principles of liberty and sovereignty. Together we can continue that work while working toward building a nation in which all can feel liberated.
We thank you for your notable contributions and appreciate your perseverance. There are many reasons to celebrate today, and we wish you all a fun and safe celebration over this Fourth of July weekend.
Happy Independence Day!
In Solidarity,
Executive Board
