Earlier today, Local 589 President Jim Evers joined Executive Board members Alix Gaston, Eddie Cora, and Scott Page, along with leaders from IAM Lodge 264, to welcome recent high school graduates participating in the Trade Trailblazers Summer Program.

The Trade Trailblazers Summer Program, a partnership between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and Rising Stars, introduces young people entering the workforce to rewarding careers in the skilled trades and vocational fields. Through hands-on learning and exposure to experienced union leaders and skilled professionals, participants gain valuable insight into the opportunities available in the labor movement.

Local 589 is proud to support initiatives that invest in the next generation of workers. By connecting students with union leaders and highlighting the benefits of careers in the trades, programs like Trade Trailblazers help build a stronger workforce and a stronger labor movement.
