Local 589 Offers Condolences for Slain ATU Bus Driver in Canada

Of behalf of all the members of the Boston Carmen’s Union, Local 589’s Executive Board would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of brother Irvine Fraser and our union brothers and sisters at Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1505.

Brother Fraser was a 58-year-old Winnipeg Transit driver and member of ATU, Local 1505. He died Tuesday after he was attacked and fatally stabbed while operating his bus on the University of Manitoba’s campus in Canada. The police arrested a 22-year-old man and he remains in custody.
