Today, members of the Local 589 Executive Board visited the Ruggles Station busway to check in with the dedicated MBTA operators from the Cabot/Albany and Southampton garages. These frontline workers play a vital role in keeping Boston moving every day, and we were proud to spend time with them on the job.

These field visits are a key part of our ongoing commitment to staying connected with our membership. They provide us the opportunity to hear directly from operators about their experiences, concerns, and ideas. Open communication is critical to strengthening our union and making sure every voice is heard.

We want to thank all the operators who took a moment to speak with us today. Your insight, professionalism, and dedication do not go unnoticed. Together, we are stronger—and together, we keep Boston moving.
