Helping Those Impacted by the Merrimack Valley Gas Explosions
September 18, 2018
Thank you to our members who provided transportation to residents and emergency personnel following the gas explosions and fires that rocked Lawrence, North Andover and Andover.
The day of the explosions, which was caused by as over-pressurized gas main, our members helped displaced people to shelters and hotels, as well as fireman to get some rest after battling the fires.
Shortly after the explosions, power for the Haverhill and Bradford commuter rail stations were shut off. Once again, our members came to the aid of local residents by shuttling them to stations with power so they could get to their jobs. Click here for photos.
A relief fund is being set up to help Massachusetts residents impacted by this tragic event. As soon as we have more information, we will post it here. In the meantime, click here to see some other ways you can help.
