If you have not done so already, please make sure to fill out and fax the documents you received in the mail for joining the Health & Welfare Trust Fund and Davis Vision Program to the following number: (617) 222-1694. The deadline is June 1st. If you have not received anything, please call the MBTA’s Benefits Office.

Please know that if you choose to not join the Health & Welfare Trust Fund and pay the yearly administration fee of $24.00, the benefits you have been receiving: Dental (for active members), Davis Vision, $5k Life Insurance, and the Medicare Part B Reimbursement (for retirees over 65 ) will stop.

This is an important program for both active and retired members. This Trust Fund was developed and negotiated by Local 589 to help maintain the supplemental benefits that are no longer available to us after being moved into the GIC.
