Happy Holidays to All
December 24, 2020
This year has been a tough one for so many. At the same time, we saw a focus on community, togetherness, and supporting each other. This is the true spirit of our union.
It is the season of giving, and so many in our community are facing challenges this year. The events of 2020 have encouraged many of us to reach out, and to help those around us, especially to families and neighbors in need.
To celebrate the season and the spirit of generosity, President Evers and your Executive Board voted to make a contribution to the Vietnamese American Initiative for Development (VietAID) to help reduce food insecurity.
VietAID, located in Dorchester, was founded in 1994 by community leaders and residents who believed that a community development corporation would provide comprehensive economic development programs and services to alleviate poverty and advance civic participation in the Fields Corner Vietnamese community.
We know many of our members give at this time of year, and we celebrate your contributions. Since this year we were not able to participate in the usual MBTA holiday toy drive, we encourage anyone currently looking to donate to make a contribution to area food banks.
Here’s to a safe and joyful holiday, and Happy New Year. We all hope 2021 will be a fresh start in many ways!
