Yesterday, Local 589 President Jim Evers was invited by Governor Maura Healey to the State House for the signing of a supplemental budget that includes over $750 million to stabilize the MBTA’s finances and improve public transit statewide.

This critical investment helps our union deliver more frequent, reliable, and accessible service to our riders — and strengthens the future of public transportation jobs.
