Don’t Miss Tomorrow’s Rally!
April 16, 2019

Today, marks nearly a week since 31,000 Stop & Shop workers across New England marched off the job and began the largest private sector strike in the U.S. in years.
Despite Stop & Shop’s parent company, Ahold Delhaize, taking in more than $2 billion in 2018 and authorizing over $4 billion in stock buybacks over the past 3 years, the company is proposing unreasonable cuts to workers’ take-home pay, health care, and retirement benefits.
Join former Vice President Joe Biden, U.S. Senator Ed Markey, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, and UFCW Stop & Shop workers for a rally TOMORROW (4/18) @ 2:00 P.M. at the Stop & Shop at South Bay Center (1100 Mass. Ave. in Dorchester).
All Local 589 members, who are not working, as well as retirees are strongly encouraged to attend. We need to let our UFCW union brothers and sisters ─ as well as their families ─ know that we have their backs! If possible, wear something that identifies you as a Local 589 member.
Thank you and we hope to see you tomorrow!
In Solidarity,
Local 589 Executive Board
