D’Alessandro: T tough to fix without more money
January 28, 2016
Former John Hancock CEO David D’Alessandro joined Jim Braude on “Greater Boston” last night to talk about a number of issues, including the T, which he explored in a review commissioned by then-Gov. Patrick in 2009.
On fixing the T, D’Alessandro, whose outstanding analysis of the T was largely ignored, said: “It’s going to take a very long time… It’s going to go well beyond Charlie Baker’s years….I think it’s going to be very tough [to fix the T] without a gas tax or something.”
He also said the university systems, hospitals, big corporations in town, and developers are “getting away scot-free” and should help subsidize the operation of the T. Everyone benefits from it… everyone is building like crazy.
