COVID-19 Vaccine Update

January 30, 2021

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As you may know, the Authority is ramping up efforts to begin COVID-19 vaccinations of our workforce through the MBTA’s Occupational Health Services.  Information on these efforts has been sent to employees through email and phone message, and posted on the Authority’s website.  If you did not see it, the information is below.

If you haven’t done so already, please click on the following link and complete the form on the page to opt-in for a COVID-19 vaccination: www.mbta.com/covidvaccine. Filling out this form will assist the T in knowing how many vaccines are necessary and will allow for the Authority to plan a distribution schedule for those who want it.

Although two vaccines have begun being administered to the population, we are still vulnerable. Please protect yourself and others by wearing your mask and encouraging others to do the same. Hand washing, use of sanitizing supplies, and staying home if you feel sick, as recommended by public health authorities, will go a long way to protecting ourselves and the public.

Thank you again for all you do to keep Massachusetts moving.

In Solidarity,

Jim Evers, President
Boston Carmen’s Union, Local 589
