Call Your Elected Officials On May 20
May 17, 2014
Join transit riders, workers and advocates on National Call Elected Officials Day on May 20 to call for more and better public transit, increased funding and better protection for riders and drivers. Keep the green coming for the greenest form of transportation.
Millions of people in North America rely on the bus or train to get to work, school, the doctor, to find new jobs. Public transit reduces our carbon footprints, drives economic mobility, and makes our air cleaner and our neighborhoods healthier and less congested. Service cuts and fare increases must stop.
We can help our economy grow, reduce congestion, improve public health, save money and help the environment, all by funding public transit.
On May 20, use the following script and call your elected officials (see list below):
I ride a bus or train to work. Public Transit needs more federal funding. I am calling to seek your support for funding public transit.
