Barn Captain Vacancies

There will be a special election to fill three barn captain vacancies.
Nominations will be held at the Union Office at 295 Devonshire St. for all three vacancies on January 22, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (You may call the Union office between these hours to be nominated @ 617-542-8212).
Here is more information about the three vacancies:
Vacancy of Barn Captain for the CSA’s
- The Primary Election will take place at the CSA’s Lobby located at JFK Station on the Red-Line on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.
- The Final Election (if needed) will take place at the CSA’s Lobby located at JFK Station on the Red-Line on Friday, February 8, 2013 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.
- If there are no more than two (2) candidates for Barn Captain, then there will be just one (1) election which will be held at the CSA’s Lobby at JFK Station on the Red-Line on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.
Vacancy of “Night BARN CAPTAIN” for the System Maintenance Improvement Department
- The Primary Election will take place at Arlington Avenue on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 between the hours of 11:30 P.M. and 6:30 A.M.
- The Final Election will take place at Arlington Avenue on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 between the hours of 11:30 P.M. and 6:30 A.M.
- If there are no more than two (2) candidates for Barn Captain, then there will be just one (1) election which will be held at Arlington Avenue on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 between the hours of 11:30 P.M. and 6:30 A.M.
Vacancy of Barn Captain for the Everett Shops
- The Primary Election will take place at the Everett Storeroom Lunch Lobby on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.
- The Final Election (if needed) will take place at the Everett Storeroom Lunch Lobby on Monday, February 11, 2013 between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.
- If there are no more than two (2) candidates for Barn Captain, then there will be just one (1) election which will be held at the Everett Storeroom on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.
The follow section applies to all the vacancies above:
Section 38
“A member to be eligible as an officer or other elective position of this local Union must have been an active member in continuous good standing for the two (2) years next preceding the day of election; he or she must also have attended at least six (6) meetings during each of these years unless excused by the President/BA. on account of absence or injury, the duration of which would have prevented him from attending the required number of meetings or because his work has taken him or her out of town on the required number of meeting days. If a member who is in arrears pays his or her arrearage within sixty (60) days of their date of arrears, they shall be considered in good standing and eligible to be an officer, delegate or holder of another elective position.”
