Tonight, President Jim Evers attended the State of the Commonwealth alongside labor leaders from across Massachusetts. Governor Maura Healey highlighted her administration’s success in eliminating slow zones on the MBTA and improving system reliability. Under her leadership, Local 589 has secured a strong contract, added several new job classifications, and onboarded nearly 2,000 new members. We commend the Governor for her leadership and sustained commitment to making public transit a priority in Massachusetts.
